Rodrigo Fonseca will join Douglas Motorsport for the 2014 Formula 4 season.
The Mexican is part of the Escuderia Telmex program which has helped the likes of Sergio Perez and Esteban Gutierrez into Formula 1.
The 17-year-old is a karting champion in Mexico, and is hoping to make a big impact in 2014.
“I’m very excited to be doing BRDC Formula 4. This is going to be a year of learning for me as it’s my first season in cars and it’s also going to be a new experience as I’m living away from home for the first time!
Fonseca has no interest in writing his debut year as one of learning.
“By the third or fourth round I’d like to be challenging towards the front of the field and at the end of the season I aim be classified as the top rookie.”
Fonseca joins countryman and fellow Escuderia Telmex driver Diego Menchaca and Irishman Charlie Eastwood at Douglas Motorsport.
