Argentinian Juan Angel Rosso has joined the Radical Motorsport for an assault on the 2014 Formula Ford championship.
The 20-year-old starred in his first season in the competition last year driving for Jamun Racing, winning three races which all came on the last weekend of the series at Brands Hatch.
As well as three wins, he also secured a fastest lap, a pole position and 11 podiums from just 27 starts.
Rosso is delighted to have another shot at racing in Britain, and especially with Radical.
“For me this is a great opportunity to come back to England to race again and to do so as part of the Radical Motorsport team, who are more like a family,” he said.
“They have a lot of experience and a huge passion for racing, now I need to keep learning more about the car and the British circuits.”
Rosso will partner James Abbott, who return to Radical having finished 4th in the championship in 2013. Abbott is looking forward to partnering Rosso, but won’t be a push over in the 2014 campaign.
“I hope that we can become close friends but formidable rivals at the same time. This I believe is essential to a pairing of this nature and will be a significant benefit to the end result.”
Rosso already has a connection to Radical, as it builds engines for Juan’s father Victor in the Super TC2000 touring car championship in South America.
Both Abbott and Rosso will be testing at Brands Hatch tomorrow. 24 Motorsports Blog will bring you all the latest updates from the test.
