The car which BMW will defend their DTM constructors title with has broken cover.
The BMW M4 DTM was revealed after Saturdays homologation deadline freezes aerodynamic development on the car.
BMW Motorsport director Jens Marquardt pointed out just how early development started on the new car.
“Even before the BMW M3 DTM completed its final race last season, our development team was already hard at work on the 2014 car.
“Preparing a new car for the DTM is a big challenge. In few other series is aerodynamics so important.”
The 2014 driver line up will be hoping for a better season than last, as Mike Rockenfeller stole the spoils at the top of the drivers championship.
Already confirmed to drive for BMW this year are returners Martin Tomczyk, Augusto Farfus, Joey Hand, Marco Wittmann Timo Glock and Rookies Maxime Martin and Antonio Felix da Costa
The car will be testing rigorously between now and the DTM opener at Hockenheim on May 4th, including the ITR test at Hungaroring in April.
