F1: Kovalainen rejoins Caterham

Heikki Kovalainen will become Caterham’s reserve driver for the remainder of 2013.

The Finn spent three years with the outfit between 2010-2012, before he was ousted in favour of a rookie line-up for 2013. Early reports suggest Kovalainen will be in the car for Free Practice 1 in both Bahrain and Spain, as Caterham looks to reduce the margin to rivals Marussia with a raft of new updates.

Heikki had a best finish of 12th with Caterham in the 2010 Japanese Grand Prix, and finished 20th in the championship that year. He had significantly more success at McLaren, where he won the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2008.
